Expomobil 60 as a method of spreading know-how and information to prospective commercial drivers!

When TYA - The Vocational Training and Working Environment Council (Transport Trades) bought an Expomobil 60; the aim was to use it to spread factual information about working as a commercial driver and to reach young people with information about suitable career choices and training programmes. There are modern simulators used in training exhibited in the trailer. An additional idea was to create somewhere for representatives of the commercial transport business and decision makers to meet and discuss the need to create more upper secondary school places for young people wanting to join vocational programmes within the transport sector.

The TYA trailer stops at schools, trade fairs and regional contests in transport techniques, the Youth Skills Sweden competition as well as at the offices of haulage contractors, creating PR for the web site www.bliyrkesförare.nu and spreading information about TYA’s activities. Interest in the trailer has been considerable during 2008 and 2009.

“We knew nothing about exhibition trailers when we started this project but I do realise that without the excellent collaboration we have enjoyed with Expomobil and the help they have given us, we would have been in trouble. Expomobil doesn’t only take care of and check-up on the truck and trailer but also help us with interior design/fittings and the appearance of the exterior. In addition they train the people who have to take of everything when we are on the road.”  Bill Rehn, MD at TYA
